Thousands lose power in Prince William

Thousands of homes and businesses lost power Monday night in Prince William County.

About 11,500 customers of the Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative were without electricity as of about 10:45 p.m., according to the utility's web site.

About 3,000 homes and businesses in Stafford County and 400 in Fauquier were also in the dark.

The causes were not immediately known.
