Three shot near club in Prince George’s County

Three young men were shot early Sunday after a party at a Prince George’s County nightclub, the police said. They said the three may have been targeted.

Police said the three males suffered wounds that were not thought to be life-threatening at 12:15 a.m. in the Capitol Heights area.

The victims had just left a birthday party at the Seize the Dance nightclub on Hampton Overlook, police said. They were found at Hampton Park Boulevard and Hampton Overlook, which is about a third of a mile from the club, just inside the Capital Beltway.

The three were walking along the boulevard when someone approached, fired several shots and fled, police said.

In a statement, police said all three were students at Charles H. Flowers High School in Springdale.

However, Gorman Brown, the school’s principal said only one of the three was enrolled there. He said the student had been treated for his wound and was recovering at home.

Police gave no ages but said one victim was younger than 18, and the other two 18 or older.
