Timothy Dawkins fatally shot in Southeast Washington

A 24-year-old man was found fatally shot Wednesday night outside an apartment building in Southeast Washington, according to D.C. police.

The victim was identified as Timothy Delonte Dawkins of Southeast.

Officer Araz Alali, a police spokesman, said the shooting occurred about 6:50 p.m. in the 4200 block of 4th St. SE. The location is outside the Atlantic Gardens apartment complex in Washington Highlands.

Alali said Dawkins was found lying on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the back, and was pronounced dead on the scene. Police had no information about a possible motive or description of the shooter
