Coming up today in the D.C. region:

SCHOOL CLOSINGS: The public will get another chance to speak out on proposed D.C. school closings at a community meeting tonight. The meeting will focus on consolidations planned for Wards 1-4 and Ward 6. It will begin at 6 p.m. at the Brightwood Educational Campus, 1300 Nicholson St. NW.

REPEAL DAY: Today marks 79 years since Utah ratified the 21st Amendment, which ended Prohibition. The Going Out Guide details where D.C. area fans of Repeal Day can party like it’s 1933.

VETERANS JOB FAIR: The “Hiring Our Heroes” job fair for veterans and military spouses will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nationals Park on South Capitol Street.

GUARDIAN ANGELS: The Guardian Angels are patrolling a neighborhood in Southeast Washington where a teenager was robbed and shot Tuesday morning while walking to school.
