A Metro train was halted Sunday night after striking a deer on Blue Line tracks between the Van Dorn and King Street stations, authorities said.

None of the 50 passengers aboard the inbound Blue Line train was injured, said Metro spokesman Dan Stessel.

Trains ran in both directions on a single track in the area for about 20 minutes while the train was inspected. It was undamaged, Stessel said. The deer did not survive the collision, he said.
