Two people found slain in separate incidents in Prince George's

Two people were found slain Sunday in separate incidents in Prince George's in what appeared to be the county's first homicides this month. Sixteen homicides were reported in January.

Ralph B. Thomas Jr., 28, of Forestville was stabbed early Sunday in Suitland near Silver Hill and Suitland roads during an argument, police said. Officers said he died after being found at 4 a.m. about three miles away in the 7500 block of Marion Street in the District Heights area. It was not clear how he got there.

Police were looking for a light blue or silver blue 2007 or 2008 Chevy Malibu that was seen fleeing the crime scene with two occupants. Officers said the car might have had older Maryland plates.

In the second incident, officers were called to an apartment in the 4400 block of 23rd Parkway in the Temple Hills area about 2 p.m. to check on someone living there, said Cpl. Larry Johnson, a county police spokesman.

He said a man was found with an unspecified wound and was pronounced dead on the scene.

No name was given, and Johnson had no information about any suspect or motive.

A police source said a preliminary investigation indicated that the man might have been attacked by someone he knew.

Before the weekend, the county's last homicide was Jan. 29 in Temple Hills.
