Two killed in apparent murder-suicide in Prince George’s County

A man and his estranged wife died in an apparent murder-suicide in Prince George’s County on Wednesday night, authorities said.

Jason Taffe, 47, of Silver Spring, allegedly shot 41-year-old Denise Taffe at her Clinton home before turning the shotgun on himself, police said.

Officers responded to the scene, in the 7700 block of Pinewood Drive, around 10:20 p.m. and found the couple, with gunshot wounds, lying in the yard. Both Taffes were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said Jason Taffe arrived at his estranged wife’s home earlier that evening. The two allegedly got into an argument that became physical and culminated in the fatal shootings. The nature of the argument remains unknown.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information can call 301-772-4925.
