Two shot, one fatally, in Northeast D.C.

Two men were shot, one fatally, in Washington’s Trinidad neighborhood Wednesday morning, D.C. police said.

The shootings happened around 7:50 a.m. in the 1200 block of Raum Street NE, near Trinidad Avenue. The victims were outside when they were shot, said Officer Araz Alali, a police spokesman. One of the men was hit by multiple rounds, including at least one in the chest. He died at a local hospital, Alali said. Detectives are investigating his death as a homicide. Alali did not release the man’s name because the victim’s family members had not been officially notified.

The second victim, who survived, was struck by at least one bullet in the leg, Alali said. His condition wasn’t immediately available.

No additional information, including what may have led to the shooting, has been released.
