Two people died in Anne Arundel County on Wednesday as a result of motorcycle crashes.

The first crash, which led to the death Wednesday of Timothy J. Humphrey, 30, occurred Saturday afternoon.

A 2004 Toyota Avalon was driving away from a flashing stop signal on Governor Bridge Road into the intersection with Davidsonville Road. Humphrey, riding a 2007 Harley Davidson Sportster, was driving south on Davidsonville Road and struck the side of the Toyota.

Police said that the Toyota should have yielded right of way to Humphrey.

Humphrey’s headgear was not compliant with safety laws, police said. He died of his injuries Wednesday. The driver and a passenger in the Toyota, Peggy Armstead Minnis, 66, and Frederick G. Minnis, 69, suffered minor injuries.

The Minnises live in Bowie. Humphrey was a resident of Edgewater.

A second motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night at West Street and Gibralter Avenue in Annapolis.

Police said that Preston Adams Jr., 38, lost control of his 2002 Honda CBR900 motorcycle and fell over, sliding into the intersection and striking a 2004 Cadillac Escalade SUV.

The impact caused the SUV, which was traveling east, to spin into the westbound lane and hit a 2005 Buick LeSabre.

Oscar Villalta Rubio, 42, of Annapolis and Alverta Darden, 73, of Severna Park, the drivers of the SUV and the Buick, were not injured. Adams, of Annapolis, was transported to a hospital where he died of his injuries.
