Two shot in Northeast Washington

Two teenagers were shot and wounded Tuesday night in the Ivy City neighborhood of Northeast Washington, according to D.C. police.

The shootings occurred about 10:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Capital Avenue NE., just off New York Avenue. Police said the teens, 17 and 18 years old, suffered what appeared to be non life-threatening injuries.

Officer Araz Alali, a D.C. police spokesman, said the 17-year-old was struck in the body and legs. He said the other victim was wounded in the buttocks.

No other details were released.
