U.S. agencies open Tuesday, but telework is okay

With freezing rain a possibility,

The Office of Personnel Management said federal offices will be open Tuesday, but that employees can choose to work from home, after forecasts of freezing rain in the outer suburbs.

In an announcement posted online Monday night, OPM said employees have the option of unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework.

Also on the weather front, Leckie Elementary School in the District will be closed for all students and staff on Tuesday, so contractors can fix the heating system. All other D.C. public schools and administrative offices will be open.

Forecasters said Tuesday morning that slightly higher temperatures meant rain in most of the region, instead of the feared wintry mix.

(Latest forecast: Expect a wet and chilly Tuesday in the D.C. region)
