Authorities are investigating an accident in Northwest Washington that left a vehicle on its side and on fire. A D.C. fire department spokesman said the occupants escaped unharmed, and no one needed to be taken to a hospital.

The single-vehicle accident occurred about 1 p.m. on Rock Creek Parkway near the Kennedy Center. The cause of the crash was under investigation on Monday.
