Prince George’s police have identified the three people found fatally shot in a home in Prince George’s County on Friday.

Those killed have been identified as Zonita Monia Roberts, 42, of Springhill Parkway in Smyrna, Ga.; Angela Lynette Johnson, 43, of Iverson Street in Oxon Hill; and her recently estranged husband, Leroy Johnson Jr., 45.

Police are investigating the deaths as an apparent double-murder and suicide and have said they believe all three died at the hands of Leroy Johnson.

The trio were found in a townhouse in the 1500 block of Addison Road South, in the District Heights area after police went to the location to investigate a report of a shooting.

When they arrived, the officers were able to see that one woman in the house was dead, Officer Harry Bond, a police spokesman, said on Friday.

He said officers forced their way “into the house to attempt to save the others inside.” A second woman and a man were taken to hospitals, where they were pronounced dead, Bond said.

Bond said Saturday that a handgun was found in the home. Investigators were trying to piece together details of the shooting.

A trail of blood remained on the sidewalk in front of the row of townhouses Saturday morning.

A neighbor, who was interviewed by telephone at her home on Friday, said officers had not come to her house to warn her to remain inside.

She said the house was part of Pickwick Square, which she described as a cooperative development built more than 30 years ago.

The development is about a mile south of Central Avenue and three miles west of the Capital Beltway.
