The Presidential Inaugural Committee announced Wednesday that it is accepting online applications for those who wish to volunteer to help with President Obama’s second inauguration next month.

Those interested can register at to assist at events Jan. 19, 20 and 21. The president will be sworn in at a private ceremony Jan. 20, a Sunday, as law requires. The public ceremonies and parade will be the next day.

Volunteers can sign up as a group or as individuals for shifts at events such as the National Day of Service, swearing-in ceremony, inaugural parade and the inaugural balls, the committee said.
