Woman killed in hit-and-run while walking in Landover

A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash while walking in Landover on Thursday night, authorities said.

According to Prince George’s County police, the woman was struck by a vehicle about 9:30 p.m. on Route 202 (Landover Road) in the area of Kilmer Street and Route 50. Police said the vehicle left the scene after the crash.

The incident triggered the closure of a portion of the Route 202 late Thursday night, but all lanes were reopened Friday morning.

Police have not released the victim’s identity or any information about the striking vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information can call 866-411-TIPS, police said.
