Woman robbed at gunpoint at Centreville shopping center

A 44-year-old woman was robbed at a shopping center in the Centreville area Thursday, Fairfax County police said.

The woman left a coffee shop at the Old Centreville Crossing Shopping Center on Braddock Road around 4:30 p.m. and had gotten in her car when she noticed a man standing next to the passenger side, police said.

The man showed a gun and demanded that she open the door and surrender her purse, police said. The woman screamed and the man grabbed her purse and fled.

The suspect is described as a white man with a beard, possibly in his 20s. He is around 5’11’ tall and weighs between 160 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt and gray sweatpants.
