Deborah Castellano shot to death in Howard County

A 47-year-old woman was found shot to death in a car near her Columbia apartment Saturday morning, and police are searching for suspects and a motive in the case.

Police were first tipped to the incident about 9 a.m., when someone saw the wounded woman in a Toyota Corolla that was sitting in a parking lot in the 9600 block of Basket Ring Road. Officers arrived and found her dead in the car. She had been shot multiple times, authorities said.

Police have identified her as 47-year-old Deborah Castellano.

Police said she is believed to have moved to the area recently and was living in an apartment on Basket Ring Road.
