Woman vanishes from Mt. Vernon trail

An 83-year-old woman disappeared Friday after being last seen at Reagan National Airport, authorities said.

Victoria Kong, who apparently arrived at the airport Friday evening, was last seen walking north on the Mount Vernon trail, according to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority police. The authority operates the airport.

The trail, used by bicyclists and pedestrians, runs near the airport terminal, and parallels the Potomac River and the George Washington Memorial Parkway.

Searches for the woman continued Monday.

She was described as 5 feet 3 inches, 130 pounds, and wearing a long purple/brown dress with a flower design.

The airports authority said she wore sandals and was carrying a tan sweater jacket and a black purse.

The airports authority police asked anyone with information to call them at 703-417-2400.
