Nebraska authorities said a car crash involving pedestrians has killed two and sent 19 to hospitals, including one with life-threatening injuries.

The two people killed were occupants of one of the vehicles involved in the crash.

“Multiple pedestrians were also injured,” the Lincoln Police Department said in a Facebook post. Those taken to hospitals included “a number of people who were present on the sidewalk area at the time of the crash.”

The department said it was investigating the “fatality accident” that took place near 52nd and O streets in Lincoln and urged people to avoid the area.

This is a developing story.
