Meteorologist: Harvey “strongest looking hurricane on satellite I have ever seen”

Brad Panovich, chief meteorologist at the NBC television affiliate in Charlotte, is among the most highly respected broadcast meteorologists in the country. He was recently honored with the award for excellence in broadcast meteorology by the American Meteorological Society.

He offered the following comment as Hurricane Harvey’s eyewall was moments from moving ashore:
