First responders rescued people trapped inside a collapsed senior center in Rockport, where Hurricane Harvey made landfall Friday night.
Firefighters initially had difficulty getting to the people inside the building after the roof was destroyed, Corpus Christi CBS affiliate KIII reported.
Authorities have not said how many people were rescued or whether they were residents of the senior center or people who had taken shelter there.
The injured were taken to a makeshift hospital, set up at a local jail, to be assessed and treated.
Several other buildings in Rockport were heavily damaged, according to the news station, including the Rockport courthouse and Rockport High School.
