Britain’s Natural History Museum and BBC Worldwide sponsor an annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Here’s a sampling of the best of the best.
Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2013; Winner – Animal Portraits This photo was taken at a watering hole in Botswana’s Northern Tuli Game Reserve by Greg du Toit. A baby elephant ran by du Toit's hiding place — a sunken freight container — so close that he could have touched it. The Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is sponsored by two British entities, the Natural History Museum in London and BBC Worldwide. The best shots are being exhibited at the museum though March 23.Greg du Toit/Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2013
