Crisis House in Georgetown is now housing eight people and not taking anyone new, said Marie Morole, executive director of Sussex County Crisis Housing Services.
“We don’t want to put our residents at risk and staff at risk,” she said.
Emergency shelters are also prolonging stays for some people because the economy is in such rough shape.
