SEBEWAING, Mich. — Police say they believe a man killed his wife and adult daughter at a Michigan home before fatally shooting himself.

State police Lt. Dave Kaiser says the Sebewaing Police Department is leading the investigation into the deaths, which were discovered early Thursday.

Sebewaing police Chief Bill Owens tells the Huron Daily Tribune of Bad Axe that a well-being check was conducted after a resident was trying to reach people at the home and couldn’t get in touch with them. Names weren’t immediately released, but he said all were family members.

Kaiser told MLive.com that the suspected assailant fatally shot himself.

The home is in the Sebewaing area, about 95 miles (150 kilometers) north of Detroit. Owens says state police investigators were at the scene Thursday.
