The Nation’s Weather for Friday, August 16, 2019

People across the Northeastern states, away from the New

England coast, will have to dodge spotty showers and

thunderstorms tomorrow. Stormy weather will continue to

pester outdoor plans along the Southeast and Gulf coasts.

Dry conditions are expected to dominate central Texas

through the southern Appalachians. Meanwhile, showers and

thunderstorms will gather over the Great Lakes. The greatest

risk of severe weather will focus on the central Plains,

where thunderstorms may bring large hail, damaging winds and

torrential downpours. Sunshine and rain-free conditions will

dominate the West, with intense heat continuing across the

Desert Southwest and interior California.
