Here’s a video in which young people explain why they don’t read the books that are assigned in school but somehow manage to get away with it in class. They also talk about how much they actually like to read — when given a chance to pick their own material.

Says one student: “If you are interested in what you are reading, you are going to want to read more. I wasn’t interested in reading ‘To Kill a Mockingbird.'”
