There are, of course, a number of different rankings of “the most educated city,” and results vary. For example, in August 2015, WalletHub.com, a personal finance website, declared No. 1 to be Ann Arbor, Mich., based on data from the Census Bureau, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and other sources. But that ranking looked not only at the percentage of higher education degrees among the population but also the perceived quality of public education in American cities.
