This video shows what happened in Brooklyn, N.Y., on March 14, 2018, during a national student protest against gun violence when some older students saw a group of elementary school kids taking part in the demonstration.

Tens of thousands of students — and possibly many more than that — walked out of their classrooms across the country to protest gun violence after 17 people were killed at a Florida high school last month. The event took place 10 days before a march on Washington is scheduled that could bring hundreds of thousands of students to the nation’s capital. The March 24 protest was initially called by student survivors of the Florida school shooting.

The video above was taken videographer Michael Elliot, who gave me permission to publish it. So far, more than 1 million people have watched it.
