Zoe Saldana joined the cast of “Star Trek Into the Madness” in Los Angeles Tuesday night for the premiere of the new film, shedding the futuristic costumes of Starfleet Communications Officer, Uhura, for a softer, sensual look on the red carpet.

On the heels of the news that her weight was published on the cover of Allure — along with topless and nude photos — Saldana revealed her midriff under a sheer, zigzagged panel of a flowing, nude-colored Rodarte dress.

Though the actress’s dress may be difficult to mimic, her bronzed, shimmering beauty look is right on trend and easily replicated, says make-up artist Vera Steimberg.

“Gold color or copper color on the eyelid…gives a very naturally look for the summer,” Steimberg says.

Steimberg blended two cream shadows (of gold and burnished copper) and applied it not only to the lids, but also to the bottom of Saldana‘s lash lines. Another tip? Steimberg used an illuminating color that had a bronzing quality to it under Saldana‘s eyes, which helped them glow in photographs.

Save for a bright lip — Steimberg said she had to have one to provide contrast with Saldana‘s neutral dress — the rest was kept simple with a soft blush and mascara.

Like Steimberg, hair stylist Mara Roszak was inspired by the summery dress.

“I’m a huge fan of Rodarte. It had a simple soft elegance with a sexy, easy feel and I wanted to mirror that with the hairstyle I created,” Roszak said.

She created gentle waves with a 1 1/4 inch curling iron, wrapping away from Saldana’s face, before pulling it all into a low ponytail and wrapping into a bun. Hairspray and a glossing mist were the final touches for the look that also would be ideal for a steamy summer evening.
