The Golden Globe Awards — the show that mixes TV and movie stars, and lets them drink — officially kick off Oscar season on Sunday night. Here’s the rundown of where and when to watch the spectacle.
Where to watch:
Sunday, January 12 on NBC, starting at 8 p.m.
What time to watch:
Technically at 11 p.m., but you may want to set your DVR for a few minutes after.
Nope, it’s not Ricky Gervais — that’s so 2012. (And 2011. And 2010.) NBC comedy stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will resume their hosting duties , though the pressure’s on after a critical rave last year.
Judging the fashion:
As usual, Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic will be ready and eager to create awkward moments with celebrities on E!’s “Live from the Red Carpet” starting at 6 p.m. (Not to fear, the mani-cam will be in full effect, along with scary-sounding high-def camera called a “Glamazoom.”) Plus, an expanded, two-hour “Countdown to the Red Carpet” at 4 p.m., featuring Kelly Osbourne, Ross Mathews, George Kotsiopoulos and more talking predictions and fashion trends.
For a more “newsy” approach, you can also catch the “2014 Golden Globe Arrivals Special”on NBC at 7 p.m., with “Today” co-anchors Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie, along with “The Voice” host Carson Daly and MSNBC’s Tamron Hall.
