And the award for worst (best?) name flub goes to … John Travolta!
Say it with us: Eh-deen-a Men-zel.
Travolta introduced Tony Award-winning star Idina Menzel as — the consensus appears to be — Adele Dazeem. Menzel, who voiced Elsa in Disney’s animated hit “Frozen,” performed “Let It Go,” which won the Oscar for best original song.
Ladies and gentlemen, Adele Dazeem!

You know who probably snickered the most about the Adele Dazeem thing? Karsten Charnowooth.

And yes, “you had one job” jokes were made.
“Adele Dazeem”? You had ONE job, John Travolta. In other news, I’m still laughing.

Menzel hasn’t tweeted about the flub, but her social media-crowned alter-ego is apparently taking it in stride.
mumbling never bothered me anyway. #jimmykimmel

Update: According to Slate, “you’re no one until you’ve had your name mangled by a confused, squinting John Travolta.” They created the Adele Dazeem Name Generator so you can do just that. My “Travoltified” name is Brandon-Lee Butter.
