John Travolta may not know “Frozen” star and Broadway veteran Idina Menzel’s name (it’s not that hard, really), but here are five performances that show why he — and you — should know her name.

1. “Defying Gravity,” the showstopping number from Menzel’s Tony Award-winning performance as Elphaba, the wicked witch, in the original Broadway cast of “Wicked.”

2. Another performance from “Wicked” — “For Good”

3. Elphaba wasn’t the first Broadway character Menzel originated. Here she is as part of the original cast of “Rent,” a role she reprised almost a decade later for the film version.

4. Menzel first performed this stripped down version of Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” on “Glee,” where she played Lea Michele’s mother.

5. In case you’re still not convinced, here’s Menzel goofing around with Jimmy Fallon singing the song of the moment, “Let it Go” from “Frozen.”

And the original, of course.

Say it with us, folks.  Idina Menzel.
