Dave Grohl is a rocker, a talker, a potty mouth and an overall rock mensch, which means he had plenty to say at the surprise Foo Fighters gig at the 9:30 Club Monday night, much of it garnished with exuberant profanity.

We included some of his stage banter in our report from the show, but not all of it, obviously. Here’s a little more:

On the concert’s promotional posters, printed by the legendary Globe in Baltimore: “This is a dream come true to me… To see my face on one of those f—— cardboard go-go posters!”

On the forthcoming Foo Fighters album: “I think it’s the coolest thing we’ve ever done as a band… I can’t wait for you guys to hear it. But you ain’t gonna f——- hear it tonight!”

Dedicating a song to the venue: “I’m gonna sing a song for the old 9:30 Club… What a s—hole.”

Responding to cheers for his native Springfield: “Really? You’re a little too proud, Springfield.”

On playing into the wee hours: “You guys got f——- jobs you gotta go to tomorrow? Me neither!”
