GoDaddy pre-released, and then pulled its original commercial — a spoof on the Budweiser puppy spot which ended in the puppy being sold online. Animal rights groups were outraged because dogs purchased online often come from puppy mills, which are no joke. After a petition garnered widespread support, the commercial was removed from YouTube. Though, one can’t help but point out that outcry over years of sexist, objectifying GoDaddy commercials never resulted in any action from the company, which only abandoned its “sex sells” marketing mantra in recent years.
Anyway, they replaced it with this commercial, which they must have made in less than a week — it’s pretty obvious.
