Conan O’Brien made history last night as the first American late-night host to broadcast a show from Armenia.

O’Brien announced last month that he’d be traveling to the country with his longtime assistant Sona Movsesian, who is of Armenian descent. The two went to a market in the Armenian capital of Yerevan, where the talk show host explored local delicacies and practiced his Armenian with lines like “I want to eat your liver” and “I die on your body.”

“This I know, this is my food,” O’ Brien said, pointing to a potato display. “This is the food of my people. Potato.”

O’Brien has been known to incorporate his love of traveling into his show; he went to Cuba in March, and he’s expected to do more “road-trip specials” in the future. Not surprisingly, he’s pretty great at vacation photos.

Though O’Brien’s broadcast is the first of its kind, he isn’t the only television personality to make a trip to Armenia this year.

Kim Kardashian West, Khloe Kardashian and Kanye West visited the country earlier this year with North West in tow. The trip was featured in an episode of last season’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
