April is exiting on a dismal and dank note with clouds, some morning fog, and drizzle or showers in the picture again today.  But May initiates tomorrow, and we start seeing some improvement that should carry into a pleasant end of week and weekend.  Last year, we spent over 50 percent of May above 80-degrees on high temperatures. So far this year, we do not see any 80s yet on the horizon, so spring gets to hang around a bit longer.

Today (Tuesday): Cool, onshore flow keeps the drizzle and showers around, especially in the morning with scattered patches of early morning fog possible too.  Don’t expect much in the gauge, but we could get up to .05-.1 inches.  Highs stay cool in the low-to-mid 60s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers or drizzle with continued cloudy skies, although we may start breaking it up a little bit toward dawn. Lows dip into the mid-to-upper 40s in most areas, but the city may hold closer to around 50. Light breezes continue from the northeast. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Cloud cover decreases becoming partly to mostly sunny in the afternoon.  Temperatures make a little more progress reaching the mid-to-upper 60s during the afternoon. Light winds remain from the east or northeast. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: Mostly clear and cool with lows in the mid-to-upper 40s again (could be a slight degree or two cooler than the night before in most areas).  Light winds from the east or northeast direction. Confidence: Medium-High

Thursday and Friday shift back into the Nice Day zone with reasonable chances for mostly sunny skies, comfortable temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s, and relatively low humidity.  The very slight onshore flow from the east makes me worry about some cloudier skies at times, but right now the guidance is tilted to the sunny side.  Lows Thursday and Friday night dip into the mid-to-upper 40s again under mostly clear skies (this is very close to average).  Confidence: Medium

The weekend is looking to continue the nice streak with maybe some warmer weather too. Highs in the low-to-mid 70s with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s — top-notch springtime weather.  A few clouds may creep in Sunday afternoon, but we should still see partly to mostly sunny skies based on the current assessment. Last weekend was excellent, and we have a shot to outdo it here. Confidence: Medium
