Temperature Map

It was about as good as it gets in the region today, with non-stop sunshine,  a pleasant breeze, and comfortable temperatures.  More picture perfect weather is in the works for the weekend, the only possible blemish being the chance of some morning clouds.

Through Tonight: Some clouds at times tonight, with temperatures falling into the 50s this evening, and ultimately the 40s during the pre-dawn hours. Fleece weather. Lows range from the low 40s in the cooler suburbs to the upper 40s downtown.

Tomorrow (Saturday): There’s a (40-50 percent, highest east) chance of some morning low clouds.  By mid-morning, any clouds should scour, with sunshine dominant in the afternoon.  The breeze off the ocean (at around 10 mph) keeps afternoon temperatures in check, but we still manage the very pleasant mid-to-upper 60s.

Saturday night and Sunday:  The forecast is essentially the same as it is  for tonight and Saturday, with perhaps a slightly reduced chance of morning clouds Sunday. Bottom line: It’s pretty ideal spring weather.

Pollen: Tree counts are HIGH, and, for the first time this spring, so are grass counts.

Tornado in Italy: Impressive footage has emerged from a tornado that touched down in Emilia-Romagna earlier today,  a section of northern Italy.  The twister was accompanied by large hail.  The website MeteoWeb has a series of photos from the storm, and see the video below from YouTube:

Italian media indicate there were some injuries and damaged structures from the storm, but no reported fatalities.

Tornadoes are not all that uncommon in Italy. We’ve written about a couple in the past year. See: Violent tornado strikes Taranto, Italy and Tornado tears through parts of Venice, Italy
