The first weekend of astronomical summer will certainly feel summery. However, heat won’t be too big of a bother compared to what we can see this time of year — at least for the next day or two — but humidity levels are on the way up. As we head into next week, the odds of an official heat wave (3+ days 90 or higher) seem quite good.

Today (Saturday): Skies are mostly sunny, with no major weather issues anticipated. Highs should range from about 83-88 most spots. A light south wind will be bringing more humidity into the region though, and you’ll probably notice it compared to recent days. There’s a minor hint that a storm or two might try to pop up somewhere not too far off, but that threat seems to favor south of the area. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: We should stay mostly cloud free through the night, though a few might float by from time to time. No real worries when it comes to some super moon spotting though! Lows make the mid-60s to near 70 as light south winds continue. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Sunday): Partly to mostly sunny skies early may transition cloudier during the day. There’s also a slight risk of a p.m. shower or storm, but just 10-20% for now. It’s probably a few degrees warmer than today, so let’s say mid-80s to near 90. South winds may pick up a bit, but they’re still around 5-10 mph sustained. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: After a slight risk of an evening shower or storm, we stay partly to mostly cloudy through the night. Lows are generally in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Some lucky location might make the mid-60s! Confidence: Medium-High

Monday brings with it more heat and humidity, but we turn up the heat a little more than over the weekend. Under partly sunny skies, highs are mainly in the near 90 to low 90s range — a few spots should threaten the mid-90s. We’ll run that 20% risk of a late-day shower or storm again as well. Overnight lows are mainly near 70 or into the 70s.   Confidence: Medium

On Tuesday it’s still hot… sorry. Another day of partly cloudy skies and the possibility of a few afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms. This one might be the hottest of the bunch, with afternoon temperatures mainly in the low-to-mid 90s. Confidence: Medium
