Prepare to keep sweating through the weekend and beyond. But luckily temperatures hit resistance at around the low 90s, thanks to more in the way of clouds, showers, and storm chances. By late this weekend and into the work week, you may want to have that umbrella on you, just to play it safe.

Today (Friday): Can you believe our planet is at its furthest point from the sun today? It still is hot & muggy, though, which calls for a beach, pool, or some water source nearby! High temperatures near 90 to perhaps a few low 90s—under partly to mostly sunny skies—means sunscreen is needed. Hydration, too. Luckily our muggy air has a slight south-southwest 5-10 mph breeze to cool us a tad. I want to keep a slight 15% chance of a rogue thundershower finding us. Confidence: High

Tonight: After any isolated rain passes, we enjoy partially clear skies and continued southwesterly breezes at 5-10 mph. Low temperatures barely subside into the low-to-mid 70s. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Saturday): Mainly sunny, but shower & storm chances ramp up a notch (to 20-25%). Overall, you should be able to stay dry from rain—no promises about sweat. Muggy high temperatures should end hot, in the low 90s, with a few mid-90s south of town possible. Breezes continue, almost refreshingly negating the swamp-blanket, out of the southwest at 10-15 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: Partially cloudy, but only slightest 5-10% chance of a renegade shower. Low temperatures may range in the warm, muggy 70-76 degree range. Confidence: Medium-High

Sunday: Could offer a notch up in mugginess, if you can believe it. That may yield, with moments of sunshine throughout the day, instability-fueled thundershowers (30-40% chance). High temperatures luckily don’t catapult way high, but still around 90 to low 90s are not going to be great. (Better than 105 degrees: one year ago!) Confidence: Medium

Sunday night: Mainly cloudy as scattered showers, storms may rove through the region. Chance of rain is around 30% at this time, it appears. Low temperatures may cool a bit into the upper 60s to low 70s. Cooler than recently, anyway. Confidence: Medium

Monday may be very uncomfortable with high temperatures in the low-to-mid 90s possible, but if thicker clouds and rain chances increase from where I currently see them (35-45% chances), we may avoid the mid-90s. Walk on the shady side of the street! And perhaps grab that umbrella. Confidence: Medium

Tuesday clouds and rain chances may increase just a bit, with 40-50% chance of showers, storms possible. Silver lining could be a bit less in the way of warm sunshine, since high temperatures around 90 into the low 90s are plenty hot enough! Even without the sun. Confidence: Low-Medium
