Unlike recent summers, we seem to be doing a better job of not reaching the highest temperature potential much of the time. Today, fairly continual cloud cover helped keep us on the low end of forecast. With humidity still way on up there, let’s enjoy our weather victories when we can!

Through Tonight: More concentrated shower activity of the afternoon pushes east, but we may still see an isolated shower or two (20% chance). Clouds break at times, leaving us partly to mostly cloudy on the whole during the overnight. Lows range from near 70 to the mid-70s. Winds are light from the southwest.

Tomorrow (Wednesday): We should see another fairly cloudy day, tho perhaps not fully cloudy. Clouds are probably thickest in the midday into afternoon, when that typical shower and thundershower threat (40% chance) returns. There’s not much change to this air mass, so highs probably are in the mid-80s to near 90, depending largely on how much cloud cover we see. Winds blow from the south and southwest around 10 mph.

Toronto Flooding: Less than a month after flooding hit Calgary, another significant flood event impacted the Toronto, Canada metro yesterday. About 90mm (~3.5″) of rain fell in the city over a short period, with Pearson International Airport recording its wettest day on record at 126mm (~5″) of rain. Rain and flooding was described as “unprecedented” by locals. The Weather Network explains how it came together over a relatively small area.
