Temperature Map

Temperatures: Latest D.C. area temperature map. See interactive map on our Weather Wall.

It’s the end of August and, like many in Washington, interesting weather has gone on vacation.  Temperatures are near average, it’s typically humid, and any storminess is at least a couple days away.

Through Tonight: Partly cloudy and pleasantly warm.  Sure, it’s somewhat humid, but without the sun beating down on you it feels just fine.  Lows range from the mid-to-upper 60s in the suburbs to 70-72 downtown.  Light winds from the east.

Tomorrow (Friday): High pressure is overhead meaning lots of sun.  We still have a relatively moist airmass overhead, so it feels a bit sticky in the afternoon with the sunshine, moderate-high humidity levels, temperatures reaching the mid-to-upper 80s and not much of a breeze (southerly winds around 5-10 mph in the afternoon).  It’s a good pool or beach day for sure.
