D.C. area forecast: Fabulous fall streak continues

Today’s Daily Digit

A somewhat subjective rating of the days weather, on a scale of 1 to 10.

Well, it’s pretty much perfect. But I’m taking a point off for lack of originality.

Express Forecast

Today: Partly to mostly sunny, pleasant. Highs: Mid-70s.

Tonight: Mostly clear and cool. Lows: 50s.

Tomorrow: Mostly sunny and a tad warmer. Highs: Mid-to-upper 70s.

High pressure continues to hold sway through midweek and likely beyond, providing plenty of sun and pleasant temperatures. I mean, if we’re going to be stuck in a rut weather-wise, we could do worse, right?  The only two items you’ll really need with you over the next several days are a pair of shades, and maybe a light jacket if you’re out early or late in the day.

Today (Sunday): Any early-to-mid morning cloudiness should clear out nicely for a partly to mostly sunny day with plenty of blue skies. Temperatures once again hit the goldilocks zone (not too hot, not too cold) with highs in the mid-70s. Winds from the north-northeast are generally less than 10 mph. Confidence: High

Tonight: The evening and overnight are mainly spent under mainly clear skies, though a few low clouds may block the stars now and again.  Temperatures stay comfy as well, with lows ranging from near 50 in the far north and west suburbs to the upper 50s downtown.  Winds are light and variable. Confidence: High

Any pattern changes on the way? Keep reading for the forecast through the midweek…

Tomorrow (Monday): If there’s any change worth noting, maybe it’s a tad warmer than today. Otherwise, we’re in rinse-and-repeat mode with mostly sunny skies and pleasant highs back in the 70s, but this time the mid-to-upper 70s.  Winds continue light from the north-northeast around 5-10 mph. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: A weakening cold front passing through the area may turn skies partly cloudy. As a result, temperatures should be a touch warmer than tonight with lows mainly in the mid-50s to near 60. Confidence: Medium-High

Heavy, heavy rain moves in for Tuesday and Wednesday.  Just kidding!  Both days feature mostly sunny skies along with warmer daytime highs near 80 to the low 80s. So don’t be hasty and put away those shorts just yet.  Tuesday night lows stay nice and mild, in the mid-50s to near 60. Confidence: Medium-High
