Today’s Daily Digit

A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

A superb spring Saturday with a cool morning, mild afternoon and low humidity.

Express Forecast

Today: Partly sunny. Highs: Upper 60s to low 70s.

Tonight: Cool and calm. Lows: Mid-40s to mid-50s.

Tomorrow: Partly sunny and still nice. Highs: Upper 60s to near 70.

After our Thursday night-Friday deluge and associated flash flooding, today is a definite improvement! Yes it’s a bit cool to start, but afternoon highs should top out near the comfy 70-degree mark. Rinse and repeat for your Sunday, then add more sunshine and warmer temperatures for Monday and Tuesday. When the clouds aren’t in the way, the sun will be strong, so wear those sunglasses and lather on that sunscreen! Rain chances return toward midweek.

Today (Saturday): A cool, crisp morning should turn into a pleasant, mild day by afternoon. Highs range from the upper 60s to low 70s, as light winds around 10 mph from the west-northwest keep the humidity low. It’s a great day to enjoy the outdoors, even as clouds mix in with the sun at times. Confidence: High

Tonight: A cool night with lows in the mid-40s to mid-50s. Stick close to the Chesapeake Bay for the warmer overnight temperatures. Partly cloudy skies and light winds make for a great weekend night out, but pack the light jacket! Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Sunday): Almost identical to Saturday with highs just a few ticks cooler. Cool winds near 10 mph from the north-northwest may keep some places a couple degrees cooler than today, but most everyone should reach highs in the upper 60s to near 70. Partly cloudy skies may squeeze out a morning sprinkle, but overall we should see enough sun for another nice day to get out and about and enjoy! Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: Overnight temperatures will be chilly by mid-May standards, with lows in the mid-40s to near 50. Any cloudiness lingering from the day should diminish lending to the cooler night. The air is dry with light winds from the north. Confidence: Medium-High

On Monday high pressure anchors overhead, kicking the work week off to a wonderful start with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s. Monday night is pretty much a carbon copy of Sunday night with dry and cool conditions and lows in the mid-40s to low 50s. Confidence: Medium

Déjà vu? Monday + a few degrees = Tuesday. Skies should be mostly to partly sunny with afternoon highs probably into the 70s most spots. Clouds may increase later in the day and the chance for showers increases Tuesday night, as showers riding over the ridge of high pressure (called “ridge riders”) may approach from the northwest. Confidence: Medium
