Today’s Daily Digit

A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

Nearly perfect once again. We’ll consider it a fluid 9. If we can top 70, I owe it a +1.

Express Forecast

Today: Partly to mostly sunny, very nice. Highs: Upper 60s to near 70.

Tonight: Clear and cool. Lows: 40s to near 40.

Tomorrow: Partly to mostly sunny, warmer. Highs: Low-to-mid 70s.

Make it a double! Another day of spring comfort is here to close out the weekend, and it only gets better to start the work week. Highs may or may not touch 70 today, but tomorrow they’ll have no problem reaching the Goldilocks zone in the low-to-mid 70s. Tuesday is even warmer before the chance of showers and storms returns Tuesday night and Wednesday. In the meantime, enjoy this stretch of sweet spring splendor!

Today (Sunday): After a bit of a chilly start, we’re headed for a whale of a day!  Naught but some fair-weather clouds as high pressure entrenches itself over the mid-Atlantic.  Our temperatures stay on the cool side of normal, but stay on the right side of spring comfort. Highs again reach the upper 60s to near 70 with a light breeze near 10 mph from the northwest. Confidence: High

Tonight: Temperatures quickly drop following sundown, as the winds turn calm and we head to a crisp and cool overnight. Skies are full of starlight and our overnight lows drop into the 40s, with a few upper 30s possible in the outer suburbs! Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Monday): I’m afraid it only gets better as we head back to work tomorrow. It’s so nice that an impromptu three-day weekend may be needed.  We’re a bit warmer than the weekend as the dome of cool high pressure over us begins to moderate.  Skies stay partly to mostly sunny and highs reach the zone of perfection in the low-to-mid 70s.  Light winds from the northwest at 5-10 mph come from the west-southwest late in the day. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Higher dew points thanks to light winds more from the south-southwest keep us noticeably warmer than tonight. Mostly clear skies and calm winds are featured on another tranquil evening, with overnight lows in the upper 40s to low 50s. Confidence: High

High pressure slides to our south by Tuesday, allowing flow from the south-southwest to pump in even warmer air. Mainly sunny morning skies may give way to increasing afternoon clouds, but we should stay dry through the day as highs climb into the mid-to-upper 70s. Tuesday night, a weakening complex of showers and storms may try to move in from the northwest. Lows range from the mid-50s to low 60s. Confidence: Medium-High

Wednesday has a different feel with a warmer and moister atmosphere, and low pressure moving through the Great Lakes and perhaps even re-developing near us. Skies are probably partly to mostly cloudy, but even so highs should head for the upper 70s to low 80s. We’ll also watch the potential for a couple rounds of showers and thunderstorms, a 40% chance for the time being. Confidence: Low-Medium
