10 a.m. update: A good amount of early sun has temperatures rising nicely with super sweaty humidity. While clouds should tend to increase through the day, we may get enough sun to push highs to near 90 across much of the area. While a shower or thundershower could develop anytime through the afternoon, the best chance of showers and storms looks to be after 5-6 p.m.

Today’s Daily Digit

A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

Higher humidity and storm chances, but more clouds keep temps from spiking too high.

After a few pretty nice days, today’s weather takes a turn for the more typical. By that I mean still warm, but more humid with a decent chance of some showers and storms. Typical June stuff. Showers and storms could interrupt this evening as well, but tomorrow through much of Friday should be quite nice albeit continued warm. How about the weekend? … back to that typical June theme.

Today (Wednesday): A 30% chance of morning showers or thundershowers increases to a 60% chance of afternoon showers and storms. Highs should reach the mid-to-upper 80s despite partly to mostly cloudy skies, and the humidity is way up there thanks to a breeze near 10 mph from the south. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: Showers and storms, at least of the scattered variety, may be around during the evening (60% chance) before the threat diminishes overnight. The evening is still a humid one, but winds shift to come from the west-northwest overnight and should begin to push in drier air toward morning as lows settle in the upper 60s to low 70s. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow (Thursday): A nice breeze from the west-northwest brings decreasing humidity and an overall nice Thursday, even if still on the warm side. Highs rise to the mid-to-upper 80s again under partly to mostly sunny skies. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Winds become light and the drier air stays in place. The combination makes for a rather pleasant evening and overnight with partly cloudy skies and fairly comfortable lows in the mid-60s to near 70. Confidence: High

Friday shapes up as a fine way to close out the work week. Partly to mostly sunny skies provide plenty of rays, and the warmth is still a comfortable one as humidity stays down in the low to moderate range. Highs remain consistent in the mid-80s to near 90. Can’t rule out a shower or thundershower Friday night with lows in the mid-60s to near 70. Confidence: Medium-High

High pressure parked off the Northeast coast provides a warm and somewhat humid flow from the southeast. That spells partly sunny skies, highs in the mid-to-upper 80s, and a 30-40% chance of showers and thunderstorms each day. Those odds are of course subject to change this far out, and it’s too early to pinpoint the timing of any would-be showers and storms. Confidence: Low-Medium
