FORECAST IN DETAIL

Normalcy at this point in September- when you can get it- is really nice around here with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s.  Fortunately, we are getting a pattern right now that is chock full of normalcy, which continues through the balance of this week with just a touch of warmer than normal weather later this weekend.  Partly to mostly sunny skies offer plenty of Nice Day qualifiers in the days ahead while latest trends slow down the late weekend shower threat to Sunday night or even into Monday.

Today (Tuesday): A disturbance that ran over the area overnight could leave some lingering footprints early this morning with a few widely scattered light showers and some cloud cover.  That cloudiness should start to break apart later this morning with more sunshine blooming this afternoon.  Temperatures continue to be very pleasant with highs in the middle to upper 70s along with dropping humidity through the day.  Breezy conditions reach 10-15 mph at times with winds coming from the northwest.  Confidence: Medium

Tonight: We need a Nice Night logo as this would probably qualify.  Very light winds from the north, mostly clear skies, and cool temperatures greet us.  Lows drop into the 50s across the area.  Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Another Nice Day on the way!  Mostly sunny skies, comfortable temperatures ranging around the middle 70s and light winds are all generous dividends from high pressure lumbering ever-so-slowly over our region.  Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Mostly clear again (Nice Night part two) with lows in the 50s along with light winds.  Confidence: High

A LOOK AHEAD

Thursday and Friday finish out an outstanding week of weather with partly to mostly sunny skies, highs ranging through the 70s, and continued fairly low humidity levels.  Thursday and Friday night should be mostly clear also with lows mainly in the 50s, but Friday night could be closer to just 60 in the city.  Confidence: Medium-High

Amazingly, our pleasantry-providing high pressure area continues to dominate the weekend outlook too.  Saturday looks outstanding with mostly sunny skies, 70s highs again, and low humidity levels.  Saturday night should be mostly clear with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.  Temperatures creep up on Sunday as high pressure finally shifts far enough east to develop a return flow of warmer conditions, but I think we maintain partly to mostly sunny conditions.  But for the warmth, we’re only looking at upper 70s to low 80s with low to slightly moderate humidity levels possible.  We’ll watch for shower chances by Sunday night as a cold front approaches the area once more.  Confidence: Medium
