A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

10/10: Totally terrific Tuesday with lots of sun, kicking off a Nice Day three-day run.

Today: Mostly sunny, comfortable. Highs: 70-75.
Tonight: Mostly clear, cool. Lows: 49-59.
Tomorrow: Mostly sunny, comfortable. Highs: 75-79.

This first full week of October is delivering some treats with three potential Nice Days in a row with lots of sunshine and warm highs. Above-normal temperatures limit the autumn chill a little, but we have a cool front approaching for Friday to complicate the situation. Showers should arrive in the afternoon Friday and could linger into Saturday morning, but the latest data suggests we will clear out by late Saturday and especially by Sunday to end the weekend on another Nice Day note.

Today (Tuesday): High pressure prevails with mostly sunny skies, slightly warmer temperatures, and very low humidity. It has been quite cool the last several days, so this surge of highs into the lower to middle 70s is the warmest we’ve seen since earlier last week. Light winds are mainly from the north. Confidence: High

Tonight: Mostly clear and cool with a fairly wide overnight temperature range from the upper 40s in the outer suburbs to upper 50s in the city. Light and variable winds.  Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Bit warmer, but low humidity and lots of sunshine qualify a second Nice Day status as highs move into the middle to upper 70s. Light winds from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Just a few clouds around with temperatures not quite as cool as lows range from the low-middle 50s in the outer suburbs to the lower 60s in the city. Light breezes again. Confidence: High

Thursday continues mostly sunny skies as temperatures are not quite as warm as Wednesday in the lower to middle 70s. Very comfortable humidity levels keeps the Nice Day status going strong! A few clouds Thursday night and slightly warmer temperatures as lows dip to the middle 50s to middle 60s. Confidence: High

Friday brings the arrival of a cold front with partly cloudy skies in the morning becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon as scattered showers march into the region. Highs are back up in the middle to upper 70s with some warmth ahead of the cool front. Showers should continue into Friday night with lows down into the 50s. Confidence: Medium

The weekend starts off showery/cool/cloudy for Saturday morning, but then should trend to clearing in the afternoon with partly sunny skies as highs maximize in the middle to upper 60s. Saturday should see mostly clear conditions with a cooler air mass bringing lows down into the low 40s in the outer suburbs to the low 50s in the city. Sunday soars back into the lower to middle 70s with lots of sunshine and comfortable humidity levels.  If you have Columbus Day Monday off from work, you’ll probably enjoy another Nice Day with highs in the 70s and mostly sunny skies!  Confidence: Medium
