A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

8/10: The fair-weather train keeps on chugging. Just enough of a breeze, and perhaps some clouds, to knock a couple points off perfection.

Today: Partly sunny, a bit breezy. Highs: Upper 60s to near 70.
Tonight: Becoming mostly clear. Lows: Mid-40s to low 50s.
Tomorrow: Mostly sunny. Highs: Upper 60s to near 70.

Our weather remains, for the most part, in cruise control through the end of the work week. Maybe some clouds and a bit of a breeze to contend with today, and perhaps a few light showers on Friday. Otherwise we’ve got plenty of sun, even through the weekend too. But it’s a much cooler weekend, with Saturday night frost possible in our cooler suburbs.

Today (Wednesday): Not too chilly to start, with wake-up temps mainly in the 50s. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds as we go through the day, and a bit of a breeze from the west around 10-15 mph. Highs hit that October sweet spot, in the upper 60s to near 70. Confidence: High

Tonight: It’s a cool but comfortable evening, with just a slight chance of a stray shower, as temperatures fall through the 60s. Skies trend mostly clear overnight, with lows in the mid-40s to low 50s as a light breeze lingers from the northwest. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Thursday): High pressure provides mostly sunny skies across the vast majority of the eastern U.S., including here at home. With a light breeze from the west, temperatures rise nicely toward highs in the upper 60s to near 70. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Clouds increase ahead of the next cold front, with a slight chance of a shower toward morning. Much like tonight, lows drop back to the mid-40s to low 50s. Confidence: Medium-High

Could see a few light showers on Friday as the cold front comes through. Otherwise, we’re partly sunny and still on the mild side, with highs in the mid-60s to near 70. A cooler air mass settles in Friday night, dropping lows to the 40s area-wide. Confidence: Medium

The weekend features a ton of sun, and the coolest air we’ve seen in some time, with a cool breeze at times as well. Definitely jacket-worthy, probably even turn-on-the-heat worthy. Saturday highs should manage near 60 to the low 60s, but we’re only in the mid-50s to near 60 on Sunday. Saturday night lows are rather chilly, from the mid-30s in the outer suburbs (with frost possible) to the low 40s downtown. Confidence: Medium-High
