FORECAST IN DETAIL

Today feels like January but the cold air steadily releases its grip this week. The mercury rebounds to near 50 Tuesday and soars to 60 by Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday. By Saturday, an incoming cold front offers a chance of showers and presages a drop in temperatures for Sunday.

Today (Monday): Heavy jackets recommended this morning as temperatures start out in the upper 20s and low 30s in most spots. There’s no shortage of sunshine, but afternoon temperatures only rebound into the low-to-mid 40s as winds from the northwest around 10 mph continue to draw in chilly air. Confidence: High

A LOOK AHEAD

The cold start to the day Wednesday caves quickly to the abundant sunshine that assists afternoon temperatures back into “normal” territory in the low-to-mid 50s. Winds are light. Clear and not quite as cold overnight, with lows in the 30s most spots to near 40 downtown. Confidence: Medium-High

For Thanksgiving and Black Friday, winds come in from the south introducing a milder temperature regime. Highs both days, under partly sunny skies, should be in the upper 50s to low 60s with dry conditions anticipated. Lows Thursday night and Friday night should mostly be in the 40s. Confidence: Medium-High

The weekend is a mixed bag. Saturday is mild with highs back up near 60 but showers are a possibility. Sunday is most likely dry but several degrees cooler than Saturday with highs in the low-to-mid 50s. Confidence: Medium
