A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

6/10: Warmer and only a few showers threaten. I even think we’ll see some sunshine!

Today: Variable clouds. Shower? Highs: 63-68.
Tonight: Partly cloudy Shower possible. Lows: 46-53.
Tomorrow: Sunnier, quick shower possible late. Highs: Near 70.

The omega block that’s been controlling our weather for the past few days is breaking down. Soon it will be moving on, which means our weather should be trending better over the next few days and into next week. I won’t exactly call it Nice Day stamp material most of the time, but at least it will be warmer than it has been, and we’ll see some sunshine as well.

Today (Saturday): One small step. That’s really all we need to start seeing much better conditions than in recent days. And we’ll take that small step, at the least, today. Showers are probably most widespread near or before sunrise, and generally tapering in coverage as well as in intensity thereafter. We could still see a few lurking into the midday or early afternoon, though. But, with time, we see greater likelihood of breaks in the clouds, and that should help temperatures pop well into the 60s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: If it ends up clearer into the evening, clouds tend to increase again overnight for a time as a cold front passes. This front is a good sign, because it means the pattern is moving again. It could bring a few showers, but nothing too intense. Lows make the mid-40s in the very coolest spots, while running to the upper 40s and low 50s in most others. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Sunday): If we don’t snag a shower overnight, we might end up with a totally dry day. I’ll just say “might,” because all it does is rain of late. Any shower risk is remote, and we may even end up with mostly sunny skies for much of the day. It’s certainly a respite from what we’ve seen even if a quick shower does find you at some point. Highs are near and just above 70. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: We ditch the slow-moving storm system, but a pattern supportive of frequent rain risks persists. This time, we’ve got a warm front headed our way from the south, and it should tend to increase clouds and perhaps spread a period of light rain into the region heading toward morning. It’s likely to be dry before we head to bed, though! Confidence: Medium

The warm front is still in our region on Monday, which means it’s likely to be rather cloudy once again. This should be the type of cloudy day with some breaks, we hope. Given the clouds and the proximity of the front, some showers are possible. It shouldn’t be of the heavy variety. Highs rise to near 70. Confidence: Medium

A little pocket of cold air goes flying by our region Tuesday, and that could help set up some general showers and thunderstorms by afternoon. I think we at least start the day with some sunshine! It’s a little stickier out there as dew points rise well into the 50s. Not quite “yuck” level, but noticeable. Highs head for the low to mid 70s. Confidence: Low-Medium
